2 mile swim today in just under an hour, easily the fastest distance swim I have ever done.  This no running thing has really helped my swim!  Today my foot fit in my boot for the first time in since Tuesday so the swelling is going down fast.  Could mean TOU is doable next Saturday..

That's some fast swimming! 2.4 miles in an ironman in under an hour is top tier and you aren't far from it. Hope the foot continues to improve.

That .4 left would be the killer though! I'm pretty tempted this year to switch into some tris again for a while.

From Steve on Sat, Sep 08, 2012 at 12:29:55 from 209.235.31.148

I learned from earlier tris that you need a mile swim in the low 20s to compete well. That's a stretch for me..

In Blacktail a few years ago I only kept up by posting a 32 and change in the 10k run. Funny enough it was the bike that the pros got me on, I came out of the water fourth.

You gotta miss this stuff!

I didn't realize you were such a good swimmer. Anyone can learn to bike so if can run better than almost everyone and swim ok you are set. When I did an ironman I swam the 2.4 in 1:17 which put me at about 1,000 out of 1,500...needless to say I was passing people for the rest of the race.

No way I could swim a 1:17. To come out in 1,000 you must have been in a qualifier or something.

It was at Kona in 2002. I qualified at the first and last Utah Ironman because the swim was cancelled.

I have no concept of swim times, but if Fritz says its fast, I believe him.

Hope that foot gets better and we see you up there next weekend. We'll split a 6-pack of Diet Mountain Dews at the finish line!

Steve, A boot? Glad to hear though that TOU may still be in the cards for you.

Steve Ash - I'm almost certain Steve is talking about a cowboy type boot.

Yeah, just putting the boots on for work..
