Day of long call for work meant heading to the mountains. I ran a good portion of the lower trail up K2 west of Denver hitting deep snow about the 12,000 foot level but in blue skies and 50 degrees. Then summited Capitol which took seven pitches with a 150 foot rope. Couldn't even run the ridge without laying rope. Intensely beautiful day.

Got a call to fly to Salt Lake and then was released so I headed up Mt Olympus with Walter. Some hikers coming down told us we wouldn't make it without crampons and ice gear and it was close. Very cool night run.

Wow - that's a huge climb on Capitol. Way to take advantage of the weather window. I thought that was a precarious climb in dry conditions without ropes... but even WITH gear, doing that in winter takes some patience, skill, and persistence. Nice job Steve.
