Evening run in Detroit.  Monday we filed our permit for our June climb of Mt Mckinley, AK.  I'm beyond excited for this climb, one of the last remaining serious mountains that still requires no guides.  I'm estimating it will take about two weeks and the training starts now.  The other two guys climbing are in much better shape than I am and stronger overall.  It will be a good incentive to get into some strength training and maybe even spark up my interest in running again.

Call it by its real name - Denali!

That's really, really awesome though. I'm not sure I'd ever have the patience to do expedition style mountaineering, but that is just a special mountain and totally worth the time commitment. You're going to have to spend a lot of time skiing/climbing in the snow this winter!

Yes, Denali is much more appropriate. I'm not sure I'll be into longer climbs either but I've come close to a few good ascents and always discovered that even experienced groups have huge amounts of gear and are made up of people out of shape to climb. Denali has been done in 18 hours which is contested by quite a few people. But if you camped out at base camp until perfect weather and then went for it, it would be pretty cool. I'm going to spend some serious time on skis this winter.
