Another pretty normal run, 7:20 pace.  I spent all day today from 6am on hauling huge boulders down from the mountain and building rock retaining walls and steps around my house.  I had the unusual assistance of the kid who egged my house and today totally kicked his butt.  Bleeding hands, ripped pants, it was awesome.  But he did start to kind of enjoy it after a few hours.

I've noticed that all rich people in utah have big boulders in their yard that are larger than my house.

I'm sure he'll enjoy egging your house again tonight.

In China all the rich people have giant jade Dragons in their yard. I went to his house as part of the tour.

All the rich people in Utah strategically place their houses around the boulders.

I've been thinking about that boulder thing. Interesting observation. I had not thought about that before but I remember when I was building my house a neighbor pointed out his yard and told mer that he had spent $27,000 on boulders. I thought it was about the dumbest thing I had heard of doing with money.

A giant Jade dragon sounds much more logical.

I got forced into it. Since I have a hillside lot the city has pointed out where they want retaining walls on my property to control drainage. Since the property was fine before I ever lived on it, I've ignored these demands for a few years, racking up $2,400 of fines from Logan City. I finally reached an agreement with them last week to waive the fees in exchange for a few smaller rock retaining walls.

My parents paid $24,000 for the house I grew up in.

Yeah but back then there was no electricity and the bathroom was in the backyard. :-)
